About Me

Hi, I'm Kelly Rose.

I've been practicing estate planning law for over 16 years, and in that time, I've helped hundreds of families create plans that actually work, not just on paper, but in real life.
I know what happens when estate planning is done right. And I know what happens when it's done wrong.

I've seen families come together with clarity and relief. And I've watched families torn apart by unclear wishes, unspoken expectations, and old wounds that never got a chance to heal.

Here's what I learned the hard way: handing someone a clean set of legal documents only gets them halfway there.

Estate planning isn't just about wills and trusts. It's about protecting the people you love. It's about preventing conflict. It's about making sure your family isn't left scrambling, confused, or fighting during the hardest time of their lives.

That's why I take a different approach. I combine my legal expertise with my training as a family mediator and certified death doula to offer something more holistic, something that addresses not just the paperwork, but the emotional, spiritual, and relational dimensions of preparing for death.

Because when you do this work well, it changes everything. You live with more peace. You heal old wounds. You have the conversations that need to happen. And your family is held, not burdened, when the time comes.

Kelly Rose Mason, Esq.
Estate Planning Attorney | Death Doula

"I believe that when we bring back the sacredness of death, we bring back the sacredness of life. And that is how we change the world."

My Personal Experience

This work isn't just professional for me. It's deeply personal.

Last year, I sat with my beloved stepmother as she went through the process of dying and was there beside her when she died. I sat with my mother as she navigated her grief and the overwhelming details of widowhood at 85. I held space for my family as we faced the reality of death together, not as an abstract concept, but as a sacred threshold we all witnessed and experienced together.

That experience changed me. It deepened my work. It made me a better lawyer, a better guide, and a better ally to my clients.

Now, I walk this path as an estate planning attorney, family mediator, and death doula—all woven together to provide holistic, compassionate guidance for my clients and their loved ones.

I hold both the legal clarity and the sacred heart of this work.

What I Believe

Estate planning done right addresses five essential areas:

  1. The practical and legal (documents, assets, trustees, executors);
  2. The emotional and relational (healing wounds, having difficult conversations, forgiveness);
  3. The spiritual and ceremonial (honoring your beliefs about death and what comes after);
  4. Your legacy (what you want to leave behind in values, wisdom, and love—not just assets);
  5. The physical and environmental (how you want your deathbed and after-death experience to unfold).

When all five areas are addressed, you don't just have an estate plan. You have peace of mind, relational healing, and a legacy of love.

That's what I help people create.

Beyond the Work

I live in Colorado with my husband, Michael, our 22-year-old son, Aidan, and our beloved rescue cat, Luna. I find joy in playing games with family and friends, seeking out the perfect hot spring, sailing, hiking in the mountains, and disco dancing!

These are the things that keep me grounded, present, and connected to the beauty of being alive. They remind me why this work matters: life is precious, and the time we have together is a gift.
