The Death Wisdom Path

"Love and death are the greatest gifts that are given to us; mostly, they are passed on unopened."

— Rainer Maria Rilke

We live in a culture where death is avoided, feared, and rarely spoken of. As a result, most people approach end-of-life planning as a dreaded task to check off a list.

But as an estate planner of 16+ years and certified death doula, I have found that when you face and plan for death with curiosity and intention, something remarkable happens: you start living more fully. This is the work of Death Wisdom.

Death Wisdom is about preparing for the end of life in a way that heals relationships, clarifies what matters, and transforms fear into peace—both for you and those you love.

"What if death isn’t something to fear, but something to unwrap with curiosity and love?"

What Death Wisdom Path

The Death Wisdom Path is a holistic approach to end-of-life planning that addresses not just legal documents, but the emotional, spiritual, relational, and practical dimensions of preparing for death.

The result: Legal clarity, emotional peace, spiritual preparation, practical planning, family healing, a legacy of love.

The 5 Domains of Death Wisdom

Death Wisdom addresses the five sacred domains of end-of-life preparation:

1) Physical and Environmental. What do you want your deathbed experience to look like? What rituals, spaces, and care honor your beliefs and bring you comfort?

2) Emotional and Relational. Who do you need to forgive (including and especially yourself!)? What conversations need to happen? How can you heal old wounds so you can live and die in peace?

3) Legacy. What do you want to leave behind—not just in assets, but in values, wisdom, and love? How do you want to be remembered?

4) Spiritual and Ceremonial. What are your spiritual beliefs about death and what comes after? What ceremonies or practices would honor your passage?

5) Practical. Who will carry out your wishes? What legal documents do you need? How can you make this as easy as possible for those you leave behind?

When all five domains are addressed, you don't just have an estate plan. You have a legacy of love.

This is a comprehensive, customizable journey that weaves together the practical, emotional, spiritual, and relational dimensions of end-of-life planning.

We'll work together at a pace that honors your life and your needs — meeting weekly, bi-weekly, or on whatever schedule feels right. This isn't a one-size-fits-all program. It's a sacred process designed around you.

    A Client Story

Katherine was diagnosed with a terminal illness and given less than a year to live. She had two adult children with disabilities, and her greatest fear was what would happen to them after she was gone.

Together, we created a plan that ensured her children would be cared for in the way she envisioned. We documented her beliefs and wishes around her health care and death, and she gained peace of mind knowing I would be there with her at her death and afterward to make sure everything was honored.

Through our work together, Katherine also found the courage to have deep, healing conversations with her children that once felt impossible. She told me later that those conversations were among the most meaningful of her life.

This is sacred work. And I would be honored to walk this path with you.
